Are there any pompano in the surf yet??? Or when do they hit the surf in full effect ????

The pomps are always there. You can catch them all year. They get nicer and fatter in the fall and winter. They are easier to catch on the 'pomp days' when the seas are calm and flatter. That usually means the time of year just after a north wind has passed through the day before or during the time when light winds prevail. They are sight and smell feeders so if the water is dirty, you have a 50% less chance of them finding your bait or lure. If you find a nice window of clean surf, it's just a matter of finding them or waiting till they find you. Watch this forum and look out for posts that say 'pomp window'. Hope that helps.
