There were some real disrespectful people out at bob hall last night. Pier was packed and one family barged into the area my girlfriend and I were fishing. I was literally 5 feet away from my girlfriend with 2 poles and an ice chest between us and this rude lady walked in between us and started unpacking. There were 2 poles in rod holders and an ice chest between us and this family of about 8 people just started to sit down and take over the area. There was room on the outside of us on both ends but they chose to try to push us off of our spot.
It was unbelievable. I told the lady that we were already fishing there and she acted like she never saw us. So they moved one foot to the right of us and casted out her lines and crossed mine. Then when she crossed one of my lines she grabbed one of my double drops as she was pulling her line in and tried to take it. My girlfriend was like ughhh hey thats our bait and line, and she tried to leave with it. So it got all tangled up in her families lines because she tried to keep it and it was still connected to mine.
It was a real eye opener for us to see such rude and disrespectful people out there.
AS FAR AS FISHING GOES
We left with about 4 sand trout and 4 bull whiting. Around 1130 or so the shark fishermen on the end of the pier landed about a 8-9 foot hammerhead. They tagged the fish and it swam off nicely. Also, I caught some huge skipjack in the 23-25 inch range and saw a nice 22 inch drum caught. The fish wanted live shrimp and fresh dead. If you had a big bag of bob hall frozen you werent catching. Which is what the trash next to me was fishing with and I'm glad they only caught 2 hardheads all night fishing with it. |

| Next time throw the rods over the rail or snap them in half. Im done dealing with idiots in a nice way. These ghetto trash MFers have to learn at some point what respecting others fishing area/lines means. |

I was there from about 7:30pm- 11pm and it was packed. I set up about halfway down under a light and caught some spades, and a mangrove. Saw a couple in front of me catching some trout and a big skip jack, and a guy next to me caught a nice black drum. Seems like the bite turned off so we left the madness. _________________ All fisherman are liars except you and me, and I'm not so sure about you... |

| I understand your frustration, no matter where you go those kind of people are everywhere even out on boats and they dont have to be "ghetto". I've had experiences with them everywhere to some extent but they usually aren't that aggressive but maybe that's coz I have that vibe of handing there supple bum to em in a HEB bag. They've been here since the beginning of time and I'm sure they'll be here till the end of time. Gotta learn to deal with em some how. |

| That's why I only fish bhp during the middle of the week during the summer and spring and only fish the pier during the weekends in fall and winter or you end up dealing with those type of idiots I fish off the beach during the summer. |

Yeah I was the one who brought in the skips and my girlfriend was bringing in the whiting and trout. If you heard us saying "omg I can't believe these people" yesterday, that was us. We kept it all very low key, but inside we were furious. To make it worse they had kids and were teaching them how to act on the pier by being great role models. Normally I take out the yaks and avoid the morons... I think next time I hit a pier I'll try Oso Pier out by A&M. |

I have seen this exact topic on this forum so many times. Its always the same type of people doing the same thing. I have learned to seperate myself from trash like that...to the point that I rarely visit the jetties these days. Its a real shame and a bummer that we have to share oxygen with slime like them. At least yall caught a few fish. _________________ "When times are tough,

I didn't hear ya'll say that but it may have been you. The couple I saw had a large green ice chest with a blue light lantern on it. They also let someone's kid reel in one of their lines that ended not having anything on it. I had a rod in a bucket to their right and was also fishing the light on the opposite side. _________________ All fisherman are liars except you and me, and I'm not so sure about you... |

Yeah that was us. We didn't want to make a big deal of it on the pier due to the fact that I think the lady was just trying to pick a fight. After she tried taking our bait I just kindly moved down and didn't have a problem after that. There was a really nice family nearby and you could tell the little boy was very excited to be fishing. Glen was more than happy to let the kid reel in one of our lines. When the pier is crowded it can be frustrating to people and I can understand that. Lines get crossed and sometimes you get a little too close for comfort, but I still couldn't believe this lady and the example she was trying to set for her kids. _________________ Fishing is always the answer.
