Hit the end honey hole at sunrise - there were a surprising number of folks there for a Monday. Teacher Girlfriend landed her first keeper redfish, a solid 23 incher, at about 7:45, and I followed with a 22 incher 30 minutes later. The water was a 7 out of 10 early, then went to a 6/10 by the time we left. Live shrimp on the trusty lemon rig worked, She was fishing 3 x 3 beach side, and I was fishing 6 x 6 channel side. It looked like folks half way down were getting a few mangroves and a trout or two.
Note to self: Check your drag next time before a world class skipjack nearly spools you. |

| TFTR. I like fishing the jetties, but I always loose a lot of leaders and lures. |

Thanks for the report. I was thinking about going tomorrow but I think with these winds the water will be chocolate milk by this point. (if anyone was out today and saw otherwise, pm's are appreciated ) _________________ ...if my boss ever finds this forum I'll be unemployed... |

| B-1 83....you say you used your lemon rig today. I have a question for you. I have used lemon rigs before on the jetties but the lines seem to get tangled too often. Is there some method/secret from preventing this? |

| I nailed a 23" skipjack last week - my biggest yet. Some big ones showing up. Surf trout showed up on 8/4 and were thick south of Bob hall. I'm armed today! |

Skipjack eat just about any bait (shrimp, squid, mullet, menhaden) . I use a 3/4 ounce silver spoon in the surf with pink skirt. Any lure will catch them too. The oily fish
are not picky. |
