so sad to hear...
did a little digging and the bleach spray solution has /is only good for a week or so and then needs to be changed...
and as far as rays go.... man, I quit wading bays way back.
still shuffle the surf.
even then, slipping off into a hole makes me go full alert! _________________ the creepy uncle that scares the kids.... |

| The story I'm hearing around town is he was stuck by a fish and that's what caused it. Haven't heard what kind of fish or if that is even the truth. |

"V. vulnificus infection is treated with antibiotics. When this infection is suspected, treatment with a combination of a third-generation cephalosporin (e.g., ceftazidime) and doxycycline is recommended. V. vulnificus wound infections should be treated with aggressive attention to the wound site; amputation of the affected limb is sometimes necessary." |

Are you writing scripts for those that want them??
If not, I will use Fish Antibiotics as recommended by numerous docs as perfectly safe , i.e. the same pills as my local pharmacist would give me. Since I go to VA for my meds normally, most of my antibiotics are held in cold storage as disaster preps. Gloom and Doom stories about antibiotics for fish and about "Use By Dates" are nothing more than Big Pharma hocus pocus. It ranks right up there with Global Warming. Get a good recent copy of the Nurses PDR which will tell you in plain English what diseases they should be used for, in what doses and for how long.
All the above said - if you can - GET competent medical care.
In a big emergency - do what you have to do.
Everyone should read "The Doom and Bloom Survival Medicine Handbook: Keep your Loved Ones Healthy in Every Disaster, from Wildfires to a Complete Societal Collapse. DR Joseph Alton (Author) |
