Hey, this is my first time to post here. Some friends and I have a trip planned to fish PINS this weekend. (Target: SHARKS) This is the first time we have ever fished it and I've heard the weeds are bad right now. Supposed to be a calm weekend though. I was supposing we travel down to the 40's or 50's, or until it looks good. Any suggestions? 4X4 conditions? Any hints would be greatly appreciated. Question

I'm not really a surf guy, but I think you should probably re-think your strategy. The reports coming from down there are not good. Surfdragon posted some pics yesterday that tell the tale for you (granted they were pics from packery and bob hall and not PINS). I may be wrong or there may be good spots to fish, but I bet you're gonna have to do some traveling to find em.

Conditions right now are not good, with rain in the forcast for this weekend. However wind is suppose to die down a little bit

There are areas that are fishable but like MikeOnTheLights said you may have to drive to find them

i went down last weekend and the weed was horrible and the driving conditions sucked you really cant go over 10mph or sand get every where and when you cast out rods the weed will just bring them back in

if i were you i would go to mansfield if you are ganna go cause least you can get your rods high up and out of the water

i might head down there this weekend to not sure yet

Don't get discouraged BigMike come on down.!! Saturday looks good. Low wind no rain. good luck on your shark quest. Also try the first gut with
gulp shrimp on a 1/2 to 1 oz. jighead or texas or carolina rig. Use topwaters
early for close in trout from mm 18 to 20. Very Happy Very Happy

Was on the beach today... It's starting to look a little better but the weed is really stacked up on high tide. Water is clearing but the first and second guts are heavy with weed on bottom. Saw lot's of bait so if you fish in the clearer' area's you should do OK by Saturday. Wind is supposed to be lite. Good luck Cool
