Yes I am posting this one a little late, it just took me a while to get around to it. This is my largest trout I have yet to catch: 27" and 7lb.-5oz. She was fat! Caught her on a 3" Natural Gulp shrimp in Baffin Bay. I don't have a boat of any kind, Im just a student at TAMUK who grew up fishin and absolutley loves it! So I just wade out from the shore in the evenings after classes and baseball practice. This is right off of Hwy 771 about 3 miles before you get to Kratz's. I'm originally from Houston, so Im familiar with the Galveston area, but I soon fell in love with Baffin!

No need to post false info just to try and get people to throw back the big ones. I agree, unless you want to mount it, throw it back. But the taste is fine. Have eaten one that large years ago and she was excellent. The holder of the world record trout caught in Florida (19 plus lbs as I remember) was asked about his catch. His answer was 'it was delicious".

Great fish! Congrats on such a fine catch.

Although I'd prefer to eat a regular black drum to a trout you must try a trout almondine recipe.
