| Well thanks to this post I learned something today! I have heard of these things but never knowingly seen one or knew anything about them. Googled them and now Im an expert lol. Seriously cool looking bird though!!!! You should give them a whirl come Sept. Tyler. I know you could make it taste good once you got it home!!! |

Not purple but brown and rails. We hunted them out of small wooden pole skiff.
Warped them in bacon and grilled them, good stuff. I heard they are good pan fried like quail. |

we have a gallinule hunting club up north of El Campo...
we go there every early teal season...
so far we haven't seen any. :
but we do shoot lotsa teal.
