I have a meeting at 9 tomorrow morning in corpus and was hoping to hit the surf right after. What are you guys hearing about the timing of the front coming in?

Not trying to rain on anyones parade but, the entire beach is weeded out and driving is about as bad as it can get. The south end of the beach is the worst with a wall of weed at the water edge. These late season cold fronts have brought in more weed than I have seen in years. These cold temps are not letting the water temps rise and everything is staying just off shore with the exception of 4-5 ft sharks. Hell, even the turtles are not coming in to lay their eggs. If we can get a couple of weeks of warm temps and SE winds it will get crazy good. Until then, you really have to work at it. I would make sure to bring plenty of silver 3/4 oz weedless spoons. They are the only thing producing right now. Good luck and let us know how you do. Jeff Wolda

Thanks for the info Jeff. I may just have to wait until the week after next once my project here kicks off and I will be in town more often. Brought my stuff anyway in case the meeting finishes early but as per usual the bosses are running late getting here.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to convince you not to go. If you get a chance, go! Don't get in a rush and watch the water driving south especially in the morning. You will see sharks. If everyone would slow down and look you would be amazed at what you see.

Well....looking at going to Pins all day Saturday anywhere between the entrance to up to 10mm....hopefully at my favorite 7mm.
I am really...really....really hoping there is not that much or no weed.
It's gonna be a great day...low winds...sun out.... Cool

OH THE HUMANITY!!!! Shocked Shocked Look for the Park Service to file the necessary paperwork to suspend weather systems from impacting the nesting areas of the almighty sea turtle.

Looks like the wind will be calming down and changing direction after tomorrow... http://www.weather.com/weather/weekend/Padre+Island+Natl+Seashore+TX+USTX1008:1:US

As of 4pm this afternoon, there was a strong north wind and the weed was staying off the beach south of BHP. Lot of blowing sand. Surf was not real rough. Good luck!
