Headed out of the packery channel around 0745-0800 with LarryD in his boat. Splitting fuel and bait cost. The forecasted 2-3 ft seas and 5-10 MPH wind were more like 4-5 and 15-20. On the way out trolled a very nice looking weedline. No takers. Made it out to the reef around 0930 started bottom fishing for snapper. First fish, a nice trigger. What the hell, in the box. Slow day all in all ended up with 10 triggerfish and 1 snapper. Driftfished the whole time back and forth. Rough seas and wind made for a slow day but we still all had a great time on the water. We started heading back at round 1300, because my brother in law had a long drive back tot he other side of houston afterwords. On the way back in we came across a boat by the first rigs. The guy on the back had a big spinning rod doubled over. Thefish and him were both at a stale mate. Sat around for a few minutes and he started horsing the fish big time and broke him off. No clue what he had on. All in all turned out o be a good day.
Thanks larry we will have to do it again. |

| Sounds like it worked out for everyone. Just getting out on the water would have done it for me. I really miss it. But what is really cool is that folks can hook up on this forum and get together and have a good time like that. Way to go Tyler |
