I used to fish the bridge on ocean drive over the Oso on weekends, but this afternoon i saw the gates were closed going towards the base. I know they are open on weekdays between sunrise and sunset. Can anybody from the base tell me whether these are typically closed on the weekends, or was it just something going on today. For some reason I thought I remember them being open on Sat/Sun?

Thanks!

They are closed on weekends and holidays.

I've done that a few times and it is a great idea. Just be careful as to where you park as I've heard of a few trucks getting broken into. I've been fortunate that it hasn't happened to me, but I don't go there very often...

Thanks for the heads up shorty. Since we are without kayaks tomorrow, I think we might hit up the surf instead, but I will def keep it in mind for the future. Would be nice to fish that area from a kayak without having to worry about interfering with anyone on the shore. Love that area.
