Well, my last chance this month to fish and my birthday week so had to take advantage. Sunday was looking like it was gonna be a really good day so we made plans and packed up. Me, my wife and Casey were finally able to fish the same weekend and were hoping to knock out some KW points. Mitch (stickmanmitch) would also be joining us for this trip since he wanted to fish and test out his new kayak. We all stayed up N Saturday night and worked our way S Sunday morning hoping for some birds working to launch the kayaks and go chase. It wasn't meant to be. It was a loooooong BUMPY ride S. We fished a few spots where the weed wasn't to bad with nothing to show for it. Talked to a few camps and everyone was reporting the same, slow fishing day. We did hear reports of decent water at the jetty so we figured we would wander that way and do some spearing. Hit the jetty late afternoon and banged out 4 Sheepshead pretty quick (well Casey did, I didn't see any I wanted to shoot). Spent the evening with baits out. Shark baits went untouched but Mitch flat schooled us on fishing, knocking out 3 solid Reds between 9:30pm-1am. Then all went silent for the rest of the night.

38"

40"

And a WHOPPER 46"

Slept in Monday morn and fished a bit with no takers, we made breakfast and decided to pack it up and fish our way off the beach to give us breaks from the horrible drive. We managed to find one spot that had fish and Mitch got some nice bait and Casey landed a nice 4~' BT.

Watch out!

All in all it was a great trip. A little slower than expected but once again the weather mans awesome predictions for Sunday did not hold true. Wind and current were a little to much to take the kayaks out. I spent most of the trip as camp cook and helper, fishing for maybe an hour total, managing 2 hardheads :rockin . I threw just about every lure in the box with nothing to show for it. Oh well, can't win em all. Not as many fish as we hoped but some solid fish for sure. Broke my rear leaf spring again so trucks at the shop now getting fixed correctly to hopefully correct this issue once and for all. This is the 3rd time I've broken one in 2 years (and I don't drive that crazy). Will be ready to go for my next trip. See ya out there.

Formulating Game Plan

Steady...

And HIYAH!

Karate Wannabe Kid

As a side note, Mitch got pulled over on our way off the beach Monday. He was third in line behind me and Casey leaving the beach, about 200 yards from the pavement. None of us had our seat belts on and we were not speeding. Ranger just said it was because PINS is considered a roadway (which we knew) so we need seat belts. No ticket, just the warning. So, buckle up out there.

Til next time.

Lol. I was wondering if I had missed something in my own pics. But yes, it would be a bear to paddle over the "wave" in my watermelon pics!

That's what I told Mitch. My biggest is 42.5" out there. A heck of a catch that's for sure!
