|
|
| I grew up fishing in Florida and we used to tip our plastics with a small piece of shrimp. Once I moved out here I stopped doing it. The question I have is has anyone here tried tipping plastics with a strip of fishbites? I have used them in the surf and think it is a great product but have not heard of anyone doing this. |

haven't done that, to be honest....only time i tip anything with fishbites is while surf fishing, piece of fresh dead scrimp with a fishbite attached...deadly there....
don't see why it wouldn't work with a plastic though, maybe change the action of the lure? _________________ Trophy whitetail and exotic hunts on some of the finest ranches Texas has to offer, www.mcoutfitterstexas.com

I have done that while fishing for flounder. It works well and might be just the ticket around the bulkhead at Robert's Park or Charlie's Pasture for spring flounder. _________________ Like Corpusfishing.com on Facebook! |

Yep! I tip plastics with fishbites when targeting flounder. Any color will work as long as it's white (prefer shrimp flav).
I also tip fbites to plastic skirts when me go offshore catchin. Monstah Red and Vermilion snappahs go crazy over them. Good luck! |

| I've tipped soft plastics and gold spoons with fish bites when fishing reel stained water or brown tide. Seems to attract more fish in those conditions |

Unless its a gulp, I use his scents on all plastics and even topwaters. |

| Just use a little WD40. Brings in the fish and keeps the hooks from rusting. |

| I do it (expecially for flounder) but usually with a natural 'strip bait'. Years ago we use to cut a wedge from behind the anal fin of a flounder (not really useful for eats, was very durable, was white on one side and brown on the other, very much like an actual mud minnow). |

| When I first moved to TX and old timer in Rockport told me about putting a piece of flounder belly on a jig head with a red/white shrimptail. Worked like a charm. Only problem was you had to first catch a flounder to get some belly. That's where the fishbites come in handy. |
