| I got 2 buddies arguring at work over the best pressure to fish around here. I wasnt sure so I didnt butt in. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. |

i find anything below 29.97 ,but i also have a barometer on my watch the other day we caught 5 reds and 8 trout on a bar.that started out at 30.00 and went up to 30.05. right now its 29.80 and going down my favorite. the best 29.75 thats getting low. _________________ I LIKE MINE FRIED. |

Rudy,
Where did you get your chart? I have always heard the "old timers" (make that the other old timers) say we must have a falling barometer. I know that, for example, Billy Sandifer swears by a falling barometer. _________________ Big Ed

I found that on the net 3-4 years ago. Not sure exactly where, I just had it saved. But a falling barometer definitely produces a bite on PINS. Fish will feed before a storm like crazy. Low pressure makes them more active while its changing. Once set in high pressure lockjaw sets in and its hard to catch anything. Different species react differently to pressure changes so it depends where you are fishing and what you are fishing for as well as being in the right place for this factor to be considered. Fish can not be everywhere at once so being at the wrong place at the right time would yield nothing. |
