Went out to our ol' wading hole. At this spot there is a very shallow sandbar about 200-250 yards off the beach. Wind was blowing, but not to bad, water was a good color. Since we had a full moon we were not in a big hurry to get out. Started fishing about 10:30 AM. Three people fishing when we arrived but they left within 30 minutes. Father and son team showed up a little late and they had live bait.
We threw nucelar chicken. Piggies are out in force and very hungry. My buddy did not catch a thing. In his defense, it has been a long time, since his last trip. the bite was suttle. For me, I managed eight trout, three keepers in the bunch, at 18, 21, and 22 inches. Father and son caught one throw back as far as we could see. Action was not fast and furious. Strange since there was a lot of bait, birds working the water hard, and even a dolphin slamming the bait.
GOOD NEWS: everyone was super courteous, gave each other plenty mod space, no crowding. Even had a tower boat, running down the bar, that turned off well before reaching us. Always reading about the trees out on the water. Good to report there are still come really good folks out there.
Off the water by 1:00 PM
