Met up with my Vietnamese brother from another mother at Valero on SPID & Roddfield before sunrise. Drove to the beach access before entering PINS check point booth. Drove back North until we passed through the bollards and them fished about a few hundred yards north of there....... The tide was about 1 foot above sea level with a slight east wind. There was weed washing in and out with the waves. The bite started immediately with Sheeps head, then drum, then reds, and pomp and whiting. Even hardheads were participating. We also found large beds of seaweed washing in from far way with Marti Gras beads embedded in them... We used those for photo shoots... Well the pics tell a story too.. Enjoy the article...

This is "Thang A Do" aka Alex. He moved here from Oregan and is learning to fish the surf.......

This is Andrew and his friend . They fished South of us....

A view of mine and Alex's trucks and the beach conditions....

Hard to get them to smile for the camera....

And there they geaux!!!!

This was my final catch... I was really stoked to not get skunked for a change...

First Sheepshead

I just took a pic of this one and let it go......

Alex with his first Pomp of the day.

The two sheepsheads I kept......

The drum I kept...

Jonathan found a pony mullet wash ashore and used it as cut bait and scored this red.

I caught this red on HEB fresh frozen shrimp!!!!

One of the Pomps I caught... Notice Marti gras beads being utilized....

Great pics. It's nice to not have to share the beach with a ton of spring breakers.
