My neighbor and I debated whether we should venture out yesterday afternoon and decided to stay close. Fished the ICW spoils south of JFK (lol) and landed over 40 trout and 3 drum--2 @ 21" and a 24". Many of our trout were undersize, but we both could have kept limits over 15". The only fish we kept were these 5 trout 16-23" and the 3 drum.

I apologize for the poor picture of gilled 'n gutted fish on the cleaning table, but my neighbor's camera and cell phone camera were both dead on the water. All fish were caught on nuclear chicken gulp jerk shad on 1/8 oz. jigs.

Back to the question of my post: Did I catch the biggest trout of the day yesterday? I landed my personal best trout yesterday since my 2004 STAR trout: it was 29" & over 7 lbs. Anybody catch a better one?? I'm just curious since the conditions were less than ideal yesterday. Sorry I don't have a pick of the big girl, but as noted earlier both of our cameras were dead on the water. I let her go, after careful measurement and weight on my boga, to make babies for the future.

29" and 7 lbs, that would be tough to beat. Nice day of fishing.

I netted one in the mouth of the land cut yesterday it was 30 1/4 and went almost 8 I guess my scales weren't working so I'm not sure on the weight. Then my buddy went to snap a pic and the dang batteries were dead in the camera. Neither one of us had a cell phone he doen't need one because he is deaf. It was released we have no proof. Glad you caught a big one. Other than that all we caught was hardheads.
