I don't think that I can copy/paste all of it due to the copy/paste problems that pop up sometimes... but, this would expand the special white-wing area east to I37.

However... the USFWS has expressed concern about potential increased harvest of mourning dove in the SWWDA as a result of the proposed expansion. If Texas accepts the expansion, the USFWS is mandating a two bird daily bag limit reduction for mourning dove during the early season in the SWWDA.

The public hearings will begin at 7 p.m., to be followed by scoping sessions, and are set for:

March 7 - Corpus Christi
March 12 - San Antonio

(see link for location details)

I have been to those meetings...
the Fed is loco.
our place is just off the northern boundry... so we are left to dove hunt the 3rd week in Sept...

more often than not a weak front comes thru mid-Sept and our local mourning doves leave. then we are left w/slim pickings untill a few northen doves show up in Oct.

many yrs back dove season was Sept 1 thru Oct31 state wide. we had better hunting then.
the BS winter season is a joke here. if you have a few birds and try to hunt them, after one shot they leave.

besides, how hard is it to tell the diff between a WW and a MD?

Some people can, some can't. I know I am fairly decent at telling them apart but depends on the distance. Difference is in their speed, size, and tail length.
