Hello All,
I am currently living in Eastern North Carolina and will be moving to Corpus Christi later this summer. I posted a similair question in the Saltwater Forum about the fishery and am wondering about the public land hunting opportunities for whitetail deer. I hunt with compound, crossbow and rifle here in NC and hope to get out as much as possible later this year and take a nice Texas Buck. |

| There's very little public land in Texas. Most hunting is done either on your own land or on land you lease for hunting. Texas Parks and Wildlife has a program which cost Texas residents $49/year in which TPW leases property for hunting. Whitetail is very limited however. Some available on wildlife management areas through this program. Good luck. |

You might still be able to hunt the El Toro Spoil Islands (You'll need a boat to get there) on the Kenedy Ranch side of the Landcut. good idea to check first, its been many years since I hunted there but in the day, we would call the General Land office.
Can't think of any other area's but here again, the Land Office might be of help. Texas is big! But most of it is Private Property. And we take that rather seriously. |

Try hunting the creek right by the king ranch. You will get shot at even tho you are hunting public lands. _________________ Jacob McDonald
