KRIS 6 News reports:
Police were called to the Packery Channel near J.P. Luby Park early this morning after a truck went into the water. It happened around 3:30am. When they arrived on the scene police found a brown Chevy truck under water. The 25-year old driver said he was heading south down the beach and didn't see the jetties before driving into the channel. The driver and his 21-year old passenger were treated at the scene. The driver was not cited but the case remains under investigation.

Lets see. The speed limit on the beach is 15 mph, and I'm sure that this upstanding citizen didn't really notice the first few large rocks that his wheels rolled over, nor the WATER in his headlights as he approached the top of the walkway.....

I imagine the conversation went something like this: "No really Officer, I had no idea that there was a channel there. I was only trying to get back to my room at the Holiday Inn". Razz Razz

Well, that's one way to go fishing.

Glad nobody got killed. I would have a hard time believing the story if I didn't see the picture.

There had to be either drugs or alcohol involved bc given the time of early morning and the fact that they actually drove into the channel, there's something FISHY here and I don't think its the trout, Redfish, or Spanish macks. Did the cops even give the driver a field sobriety test or a breathalizer test ???? If they didn't there is definitely something terribly wrong with this picture !!!!
