The Corpus Academy has a small sign up saying that certain ammo, including 223, is behind the counter, and limited to a box or two per person, due to all the crazies in the sky helmets. Not sure if they actually have any back there, but my point is that empty shelves don't necessarily mean they don't.

I saw a huge selection of 223 and 556 at The Sharp Shooter here in Corpus. While I was there I saw a gun I want to get for hog hunting. Its a Puma lever action 45 Colt. Box of Hornady LeverEvolutions 45 Colt for a little under $33. Short barrel, short stock so easy to grab up and move around.
