I am looking for a GPS for my new boat and the dealership is having trouble locating some of the newer models. It will be going on a 21 foot Haynie. My question to you guys is what is the best model for the buck and where is the best place to buy one? I have looked online at the Garmin website but still have some trouble understanding the differences. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have fished with Capt. Angell and the one he is taking about is very nice. From what I've heard (like Ironman said) Garmin is the one to go with.

I bought the Lowrance H20 Explorer, a handheld unit - I was told (and I'm new to this) that the chip or the service website that you can download detalied maps from is the most important..... of course, if you fish in places enough you can use your memory.... secondly, mine is very simple looking and as I read the instructions I think I need to be in constant communication with Lowrance on how to use it because there is SO much it can do.....maybe I should have just paid them to call me and say, "Ok, stop and fish here"...... I have had Garmin for the past 15yrs.
I like EM!
I have a 182C on my boat now and had trouble with 1 of the connecter
sent it in to Garmin they sent me a new one and download all
my saved spots and other info!
The unit was 4 yrs. old!
and the best part NO CHARGE!!
they have super techs
they will take the time and talk to you!
