All Worth It!!
My 8 year old Melia wanted to go fishing with me yesterday. With both parents being hospitalized this month, Dad with a mild stroke and mom with a heart attack, I told her sure!!! I needed to get my head back in the game and what better way but to take my little one fishing.
We left San Antonio at 5:00am hit Cosway Bait and Tackle and made our way to the wreck. We were greeted with flat glassy conditions. First cast on the long rod produce 3 feet of weed, basketball sized. I was hoping it would change but it didn't. Met up with Rene aka "Gator and "Sapo". They hung out and experienced the same. We decided to hop north and see if it changed. Rene left first and was blessed with a 30" Red and some pomps. Sure enough when I got there the weed showed up. We gave it about a hour and Sapo and I headed to Fish Pass.
Fish Pass was flat but the water was dirty, 6 out of 10. Sapo stopped about 3/4 of a mile from the jetty. I told him Melia and I were going to hit the jetty. We stopped about 75 yards from the jetty and pumped some ghost shrimp. I tossed one on and casted it. I got hit before I could flip the bail over, missed that one. Told Melia we will try here and this is what we ended up with. All fish caught on Ghost Shrimp.
Happy Holidays!!!! Gary "Buddhahhead Rods"

| Having fun fishing with little kids is the best experience of all! Catching a mess of fish reinforces what it's all about. Great that you brought them this joy! |

Beautiful, what a wonderful way to spend the day. I can remember teaching my son to fish when he was that age. Some of my favorite memories. Thanks for the report, video and pictures! |
