Truck is in the shop, so I'll be driving the Camry down this weekend. How's the sand towards fish pass jetties? I'm hoping it's packed down but if anyone has a firsthand report I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks! |

| Driving that area was nice last week. We took my wife's Armada down there and had no problems with that 2wd beast. Lots of whiting in the surf and some small rays too. |

Went beachcombing in that area on Sunday (looking for a cyprus stump), and other than needing a running start to get across the soft section at the Access road entrance, it was pretty packed close to the water the whole way down to FP. BUT, check the tides. High tide was moving close to the packed area, and the "road" closer to the dunes was starting to get rutted out and soft.
Never found the stump we were looking for, but did find a few good sea beans. And my daughter came across a cabbage head..... no, not the jellyfish, but an actual head of cabbage on the beach!!! Made our day!

| Bringing a true first time angler down with me....I love introducing new folks to fishing. We're hoping to bring home a few pomps for dinner. Workinbird, we're heading down from S.A. also, leaving fairly early and playing it by ear once down there. SSE wind should keep the surfside of the jetties somewhat calm. Say hello if you see a light blue Camry out there. |

Fish pass was somewhat of a success with a 26" keeper red landed and a lost 18" speck on the rocks. My buddy landed a ton of whiting which are the first fish he's ever caught. Moved to north pack jetty around 1 and began catching specks, big oe going 22", on finger mullet, about 50 yds after breakers, just on the other side of the sunken rocks. My buddy also landed a keeper speck and a couple rat reds. All in all a great day with perfect weather and a final take home of 5 specks and a nice red.
