Hiya!,
Headed out to packery this morning. Caught a bunch of mullet in the boat basin, but they made me work for it. Walked out about 10AM and heard I missed the trout action, figures. Plenty of mullet at the jetties. Ran into Wally and Skipper. Good seeing yall again. Wally caught a small spinner shark as I walked up. Saw a small blacktip shark baking on the concrete. Suggested to the kid that the fish would taste better if you put it on ice. He'll learn when he eats that sunned out shark.
Fishing was slow. Lost about six 20"+ SMacks to bite offs or spit hooks during the fight. Hooked an unknown fish. I saw it hit the mullet and it seemed tall in body like a jackfish, but skipped across the surface like a pompano does when spooked. Couldn't keep live mullet out on bottom. Too many trash fish killing them.
Highlights of the day was free line finger mullet and watching the SMacks blow up the bait on the surface. Water clarity was excellent and no seaweed. _________________ FISH ON!!,

Thanks for the report,Ilove to catch smacks free lining mullet this time of year. When there thick out there it only takes a few second for when your mullet hits the water and you feel tht quick burst of power and fish on.Do you think it could been a small tarpon you lost? _________________ ''ONE LAST CAST''

Hiya!,
Its possible, but not very good look at it. Plus the water being 70F, I doubt they are still around. _________________ FISH ON!!,
