I'm the light tackle guide on PINS but, after seeing 2 large tiger sharks within the last five days I'm wondering if I'm fishing for the wrong thing. Especially with sharkathon next week. I got a video of the second one today. I have no idea how to post a video up on this board so, if you want to see it you'll have to go to my Padre Island Light Tackle Adventures Facebook page. Needless to say, the shark today would have won it and the $10,000 for a shark over 10 feet. The other one was only 9 feet. Jeff

I know there will be a lot of people down PINS in the next 10 days with sharkathon coming up. South of the 25 there are A LOT of small stingrays at the waters edge. They may be on the north end too but I have not fished there so I don't know. I'm guessing that's why I've seen the big sharks. Easy to see these sharks in the water but those rays will put a hurting on you if you're not carefull.
Getting a lot of phone calls and emails wanting to know where I saw the sharks. They were both south of the 25 and they were not in the same area. I do not do shark charters but, I catch a lot of jacks and blues and will tell you the exact location of both sharks if chartered. Available Sun. Mon. Tue. and Fri. next week.

Thanks for the info. Now you can delete the part where you mentioned the mile marker. Laughing

Yep, mentioned the 25mm. You should definately fish there! Don't worry about the other 35 miles. Nothing there to see..

HMMM, my guess if either of those two sharks were in the wade gut where the stingrays were, the stingrays wouldn't have been there long enough to count very many of them.

Certainly would make you second guess how far anyone should walk out.
