Headed down from SA with my kid and bro-in-law and his kid Saturday afternoon. Got to the Flour Bluff HEB bout 5 ish for grub then headed to the packery bridge to look for some finger mullet but didn't find any.
Was getting dark so had to get to our spot to set up camp. Caught finger mullet there and also had fresh dead shrimp we picked up from Clems. Turned the generator on as dark came upon us and then the lightning showed up. First storm came in about 11p.
Kids finally fell asleep about midnight and I stayed up till 2 am with nothing to show for. Tried to sleep but the wind stopped and it got hot and mosquitoes were out. Another storm came through bout 4 am which woke me up.
After it passed went to check the lights and the trout were there. Caught about 5 trout but all were under sized. Woke up bright and early and helped the kids catch piggy perch with a couple rat reds thrown in there. No fish to bring home but memories were made.
