Hey CF! I had a quick question for yall for a project that I am doing in my environmental science class! Has there ever been any hurricanes to hit the shore of PINS or any close by it? Thanks in advance,
Zack!

A few years back one came in right around Armstrong just south of Baffin. Probably 1998 or 99 ish.

Dolly hit Port Mansfield a few years ago, so it would have had to cross PINS.

Check with the Conrad Blucher Institute folks for some really good environmental data that they collected during Brett. One was a station at the very north end of Redfish Bay/Land Cut junction that recorded info right until it was literally blown away, and another was a station in Port Mansfield marina that recorded a massive amount of water being taken out of the area due to the winds. It's really good stuff. Not sure what your project is exactly, but they recorded the last major storm to come close to us.

brett is what i was thinking too...

your best bet though, hands down, is see if you can get a little interview from the famous Capt. Billy himself....that man has lost more info about PINS than most will ever know. Cool
