yesterday,9-11 i saw some fishermen doing something very cruel . it is something that i have never seen since i started fishing st age 5 and that is over 55 yrs. at the time there were a school of redfish that came to the t-head and these men were catching them. they would catch as fast as they got the bait in the water. they had redfish all over the boards. as we were close to the t-head a i noticed a few of the men took fish off they would slam it down hard on the concrete and then throw it back in the water . there were several just floating dead. i also saw one man stomp one and then threw it over. my phone was not charged or i was going to call the game warden . i also saw someone fileting the redfish as soon as they could which is not allowed by state law. these were in the range of 22-28 inches. when i asked someone up on t-head why some of the men did this i was told that they wanted bull reds. i was horrified. i told someone in the bait house but didnt hear anything back from them. this just ruin my whole afternoon after that. i pm tyler and now i decided to put it out here. this is a warning that if i ever see anything like that again i will call tpwd. normally i catch and release and i may keep a few fish just for us.i know this is long so ill leave more of soap boxing for another time. i am hoping that people here will be as mad as i am

Yep....some things never change!

Too bad the law abiding folks gotta see that sorta thing....but....if your gonna fish there the possibility of seeing such things is gonna happen.

Owner of the pier should be held just as responsible for not doing anything about it!!!

that's horrible. it's amazing how stupid/thoughtless some people could be. wonder if any of them had any thoughts on where bull reds come from..

Might be a good opportunity for the new CCPD water patrol unit to work. A 911 call would get them them there pretty quick. They have fish & game certification and law enforcement empowerment, so they should be as effective as a game warden.

Glad I wasn't there. They may have went for a swim. I can understand if one dyes because it swallowed the hook or got foul hooked in the gills, but to just ruthlessly throw them on the concrete and beat on them is wrong. I am not a small man and can be quite intimidating to those who do not know me. I will definately call TPWD if I see anything like that. Maybe rally a few fishermen on the pier to get them to help stop those idiots.

as for the owners of the pier is belongs to county so in essence the people there own it as it is their tax dollar at work. if the people get mad enough and demand that something be done at the pier it will get done. dont forget that if the tourist are happy the more money they spend in corpus. also at election time the people elected have an obligation to make sure that these kinds of things get done. i did see county workers come on the pier twice to pick up trash left on the pier which is an improvement over other times we have been coming. i will continue coming as i enjoy it and i also enjoy meeting the people there

Never been out to bob hall, but the piers I used to fish had big signs posting bag limits, size limits, and in bold letters RESPECT OUR SHARED RESOURCE. It even had a measuring tape fixed the the board it was mounted on.

All you'd have to do is point to it and say "here's your sign"

Nothing different from when I fished BH back in the 70's. The lowest common denominator will never change.

I would report it to TPWD anyway so that they are aware it's going on and can at least start staking the place out. They have good binoculars and skills...Smile...

Seen that kind of thing before. Unfortunately, douchebaggery isn't going anywhere any time soon.
