Anyone using a Lew's bait caster. They sound really nice for the price, but I haven't heard of them. Supposedly better, cheaper and lighter than Shimano. Thinking of picking one up but don't know how they will hold up to salt water, flats fishing.
Lew's Tournament Pro Speed Spool Baitcast Fishing Reel - TP1SH - 7.1:1 gear ratio. $158 on eBay at Sportsmansoutfitters.

my brother has a lews that he bought after getting tired of the finicky curados that we have....
at first it was really good, but it corroded easily even after being cleaned and doesnt perform as well as he thought it would. overall, it is not a bad reel though

Thanks for the input. Think I'm going to go with the Curado G-7. I have had a couple of Curado E-7's for a year or so and they seem to be holding up good. Easy to clean and work on and probably better for re-sale.

I'd stick with Shimano...Unless you come across something like my BB-1LG below...Them and the BB-1N were produced in the 80's...

Dont know why lews doesnt work well for others...im harder on my gear then a majority....i use a lews mg laser $70...it casts FAR the drag is smooth easy to clean ....caught trout and reds in the bay....and today i smoked a kingfish on it....i love mine and i would buy another if i had the extra cash
