Going to have to try that jig head rigging. That would be handy off the jetties.

Perfect illustrations I always use the short casting techniques with every rig setup but if I'm free shrimping I use the long casting one.. Dnt forget to make that cork pop

hook'm in the bottom just in front of the black matter (brain) through the top horn. I use a 4/0 kahle hook. also, when free lined or on lemon rig I use a #5 split shot 3-4" above the hook. the shrimp will last until the next red, trout, drum, or flounder smash it. if the piggy don't get to it first. I took the liberty to take a pic while I was out fishing yesterday. a veteran and former team oso member shared this with me. actually he was my mentor when I got here. he shared his fishing holes and techniques. he's moved on due to medical reasons.
