Have you ever seen such a HUGE Fiddler Crab? I couldn't believe my eyes when this guy was walking down the street I'm parked at here in Port Isabel. He's HUGE!!! Thought I'd share with you these photos we took before I let him go on his merry way!

That is a Blue land crab otherwise know as a Carribean Land Crab. They are pretty cool and used to be pretty rare around here. Normally very bright blue with vivid orange on the hairy parts. It's been very dry when it gets wetter the color will return.

They are Carribean blue crabs we had a couple at work 2 summers ago here in The Bluff. We tried to catch em but they are FREAKN fast and smart. One made its way into the office and we cornered and finally caught it. Someone took it home to show his kids and let it go at the beach.

That crab was really heavy for it's size. That shell was like armor plating and very thick and hard. Thanks for the proper name!

Thats awesome fishlady!!! He or she is pretty cute, that one and fiddlers always look like they want to highfive. Very Happy could you imagine though being pinched by that guy, Ouch that would hurt.

Today the same crab came by, I guess it wanted to be picked up and treated to the photo shoot of yesterday. He is kinda cute. He just stopped by and looked at us for awhile as we sat under our awning. Then he decided to move on. Funny little creature. Wonder what he eats??
