SB, if you suspect that someone jacked with your gear in an attempt to harm or kill you...you need to contact a law enforcement agency...not sure who would have jurisdiction but I'd start with CCPD.

The picture of the damage to your yak is really blurry while all your other pictures are really clear, just an observation. Interesting report, glad everything turned out ok and looks like the ling won that round. Gonna be interesting when you hook a 60+ pounder and try to handle it like that. I've had big ling break 1/4 in. plexiglass, back deck trim, on a 31 footer I ran for years. The boat owner always said go straight to the box with them. I was always happy just to get them on the deck. Of course I was not buying the plexiglass. Laughing

the kayak pic is with my play sport..the others are the gopro..no viewing screen on the gopro though so i have to take a bunch of pics at different distances to get a good one..
the kayak has a serious indention on one side of that dent..dragging it on a flat surface could not do that..

I am seeing a sizable dent (in the shadow) right under the center of the yak. Hard to see because it is in the shadow but I can defnitley make it out from my computer screen, on my phone it just looked like road rash.

beyond any of that someone unscrewed the plug, a kayak would need two holes to sink quickly one will not do it..and the shovel that was right next to it fits PERFECTLY into the dent..im no expert but if the shoe fits...

Well, the scratches were probably pre-existing. Most kayaks have some scatches on the bottom. Then you hit the crap out of it, and there you go.

I don't see the point in telling Henry to do anything safety-wise. He keeps stating how much more careful he's going to be.

I do know one thing: Henry sure is one of those guys who takes a lot a crap for most things he posts in the forum. I wish all the negative passive aggressive turds would just keep it to themselves. He's a good guy. Just because you don't understand him, doesn't mean you need to try or make him understand why you think he needs to do anything.

Henry,

I'm really happy your safe man. That's one hell of a close call. When I get my Hobie (bad shoulder and all), I'll go out with you for sure. I do wonder how many more people are going to tell you to check your gear before you go out or what you should have done... Seriously, the camera idea is awesome. I'm sure someone on here with experience would help install them.

motion activate cameras in the front and back of the house seems to be a very good idea..up till now i have just been relying on the AR-15 for home defense seems i need to step it up..
not too worried about the heat thrown my way, i new it would happen..even considered just keeping this little adventure to myself last night..however if i save someone from something similar..at least something good came out of it..
so learn from my mistakes, wouldn't wish that experience on anyone...

Congrats on the sobriety, I just assumed otherwise given the haircut and apparel Wink

As for someone trying to kill you, I doubt it, screw with you maybe. There's much better ways to kill a man, either way I wish you the best of luck.

And nice ling too Smile
