Considering purchasing a 1 ton dodge with camper. Anyone have experience or no what the story is on duelys in the sand? Taking in mind this would be with an experienced beach driver heading ever caution. I don't recall seeing many of the 6 wheeled beast on the beach.

I've seen a few down the beach, u would think it would be better with the wider footprint more. Surface area on the sand, just carry a compressor and get that psi low when u hit the beach

I've had mine down on the beach many times. You should be fine just remember to be in the throttle already when you hit the soft spots. If you wait to throttle up when you hit the powder with the weight of the vehicle it's already to late. Hope this helps.

2X4 or 4X4.

Makes a difference ya know.

Many years back! when the dunes were not off limits, the guys were adding dually wheels to everything, even Toyota Land Cruisers. it helped but at what cost.

Great info, sorry for the slow reply, dang net has been down here. I fell in love with this camper - Beach Buggy-6 wheeled beast; had to have it to replace my 60 suburban.
Pictures coming soon.

Been down in mine at the last 2 beach cleanups. No issues with it. As always - pay attention to what you're rolling into.
