Thanks guys. Got to go out fishing, and hit PINS Saturday. We were down celebrationg my daughter's birthday too, so we had her (7) and her cousins (9 and 14) with us.

I could see the sargassum in the water right off the blacktop. The further south we drove, the worse it looked, so we turned around at the 5MM and stopped just north of the 4MM where the beach widens a bit, pinching the wade gut off.

Water was a 5 on a 1 to 10 for clarity.
Driving on the low road was easy, the high road was soft powder with a couple deeper patches but not bad overall.

Defintely a better ride in the F150 versus the old Durango. Smoothed out the bumps considerably. Pushed her through some real soft patches just to test out the new Ford 4wd system, and really there was no issues. Also peeled out once on the smooth sand by the water (there was no one around at all, so no one was in danger) in 2wd with the traction control off to see if the new Ford system really redirects as good as a LSD, and truthfully it is a better system. Left two 50 foot long marks on the sand and went straight forward - no rear end slide out, until I turned the the front wheels. Then it was extremely controlled, versus the LSD which will slide the rear end out wide and fast.

Couldn't throw a topwater or spoon without catching some sargassum every 3rd cast or so, but still worked the whole area. Only caught one undersize speck for all that work. But I got to try out my new Shimano Sierra 4000, which really impressed me for its cost. Best $29 reel out there for sure.

There was no keeping any longrods out, as the sargassum quickly would weed out the line.

Otherwise, it was a beautiful day to be out at the beach. Blue skies, and the family had a great time.

With the sargassum as thick as it was Saturday, didn't attempt it Sunday. I got up at 5:30 ready to head out the S.Pac. instead, but then I realized how tired I was, and went back to sleep. Laughing Hell, it was my birthday, so I just decided that I wanted to sleep in instead. Laughing
