i spent all day 8/8 on the pier only one king caught. i ended up with 5 spanish macs and one black drum it was slow but got better latter.this morning i hooked a king and lost him he wraped the pillion and got off.i did catch one more spanish mack and left about 10 am i had a great time and cant wait to get back.

Some days are fishing and some days are catching. You eat those Mac's? I've only caught a handfull and always gave them away. I was told by my grandpa that they weren't worth keeping.

I've seen people cut the tails off and let them bleed out that way. I'm sure someone knows the right way to do it.

i wsa out there wed 5-9 and thurs 1-9. smack hit my slide on wed evening and then caught 2 smacks thursday evening. one king caught thursday at around 3pm and another king hit a bait but missed the hook around 6-7pm

Don't cook them at all. Just some soy and wasabi.

x2 on what top dog said. This is mostly spanish mack, some red snapper thrown in. It would rock yo grandpa's world!

Bleed them, ice them, clean them, cook them...fried S'mack is darn good.

Fillet your Smack...put fillet on a broiler pan. rub butter salt and pepper on them. Put in the broiler for 6 minutes, then take them out and sprinkle a 5 cheese mixture on top. Put back in broiler for 1 minute or till cheese browns. Take out and eat with fork......i have eatin them this way for years and years, very tasty
