I caught over ten kings this week and lost half that. Most being on my Avet sx some on my mxl and few on my pen 230 gto.

The avets will handle anything you hook pretty much. Sx with braid no problem. Won't even half spool u on a big girl. I've got 40 or 50 lb braid on my sx with 300 yards I think and bout 50 yards of 25lb big game top shot.
Mxl has 300 yds 80lb on it. I never once worried only had two break offs offshore cause I hooked something huge and went straight for the rig while green n I thumbed down to try and turn. Could've hit the rig n cut to idk.

Those things are small winches. Love em And there scream sounds marvelous lol

Me and my husband and our friend happened to be strolling the pier when you caught this. That was a great catch!

I make mine simple snap clip on one in dbl over 140# ish solid wire slip on a crimp then bead then 1-3 ounce egg weight heavier better if your fishing braid catches lot of wind. I prefer 2-3 ounce. Then another bead then crimp and legs about 2" long slide through very top swivel eye on leader to prevent twist and spread the wires might seem tough trying to pull off by hand but a king will pop it!
