I think they are just wire lining that platform, supposedly getting all the parafin out of the lines or something, but they could be pulling it not for sure.

They are still trying to destroy the rigs, but they have to pass all sorts of votes. The save the rigs program is still going on.

I understand US Rep Blake Farenthold has authored another bill to help stop or slow down the removal of oil/gas platform.

Here's the most recent column I wrote on the topic.

Yep, if that's a tug near it.. It's going down.. Went out to the "black" rig, like 25 or 30 miles out 5 days ago.. We went all the way in a small skiff, and we could see what we thought was a big party boat near it.. We find out its a tug, and they just started towing it away literally as we were pulling up.. No more "black" rig.. Pretty soon, there'll be no platforms or rigs for sportfishermen, or subsistence fishermen like me to go and harvest snapper and other fish we all love! Bummer!

This is the big platform at the 5 mile marker and there was a big boat also tied to the small standpipe.

Just out of curiosity, what depths are those rigs sitting in. The close ones that people go to in the yaks!

EPA law says the floor must be completely clean.
I doubt there will be any visible rigs left by next year.
