|
|
I am trying to find a bay guide or party boat that can take some wounded warriors out for a day. Warrior 1, is 21 years old, and lost his right leg to a IED, He is in a wheelchair and his artificial leg is not working out just yet, so he needs a wheelchair to fish from. Warrior 2, has a exoskeleton but can walk and stand well. Warrior 3, (my Baby Brother ) has all limbs intact, They can pay up to $ 300.00 for the day. They would like to do this in mid august if possible. I told them that I would look around to see what we can find. Kayaking is outa the question, as warrior 1,&2 need to stay dry. ( semi Dry )
Thanks In Advance.

Fish,
I'm a SFC here at Sam and would love to come help. I've worked with a few Wounded Warrior projects before. I would suggest Dolphin Docks for most ablebodied folks, but Deep Sea HQ has a more stable boat (catamaran). There are a few Captains down in CC that would take a small group of Wounded Warriors for that kind of money.
Let me know if you need help tracking down a guide or help setting up a head boat.

Hey There,
Not sure what kind of trip your looking for but I work as a first mate on sportfishing boat out of port a. The catamaran boat the other guy mentioned is actually the catboats out of fisherman's wharf, they are huge and in my opinion best suited for longer range trips like the 56 hr tuna trips they run....as for a head boat trip, I highly recommend the 12 hr trips out of deepsea headqrts. They have the best captain/crews and fastest boats which means more fishing time. You can also private charter their whole boat if your looking a a lot of people. Let me know I workin fishing.

reading your post in more detail I also had these thoughts:
With the mobility issues it makes most sense to me to take them on a more spacious and stable head boat vs a private charter bertram type boat. Even on a calm day those smaller boats really rock, also they are harder to access and such. A bay charter would work but again your looking at access issues and limited mobility on the boat. Where as on the Kingfisher or the scatcat, they could really experience a boat. Just watch the weather and go on a day with 2' or less seas.

The deep sea boats would be good as well as the Catboats out of fisherman's wharf. August is a great time to go with the calm seas, and also amberjack will be back in. It's possible to really catch some nice fish on those trips but a lot has to do with knowing how to fish out there, rigs/weight/bait ect. If your interested I'd be willing to ride along and help you guys hook some fish up. I have some nice tackle they could use too. My dad is a Vietnam vet so I'd love to help out. |

I would be more than happy to take a wounded warrior fishing in my 18 ft Majek . He would have to be more mobile as I could not do a wheelchair. He would also have to work with my schedule which sometimes is 60 hrs a week. It would be my treat all the way and I would be willing to use live shrimp as I do artificials. ............my treat..........IMS. _________________ I LIKE MINE FRIED. |

Check my schedule on my website. If there is a day that fits their schedule, I would be happy to donate my services for a day and throw in lodging and meals as well. Let me know so I can block off a day. Trip would be on Baffin Bay chunking artificials.

Have they contacted HOW to get into their program? Also I can help take some out on my boat as well bu the wheel chair deal is a challenge. Happy healings to the warriors. _________________ Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience. |
