It's a smaller version of the spin link. Great for quick change of lures in the surf.

They can attract grass in the bay at times but work great and save my teeth on cutting line and retying knots Smile

I have used the quick link and spin link for years and always thought he needed a smalled one and a bigger one! Spin links a little big for finesse type baits and some of my surf weights' wire are too heavy for the quick link... will get some of the lure links for sure

Right on JC, this new one is less likely to catch the first treble hook on your lures like the larger one can.

Rigged the new links on a few of my home grown inshore lure leaders and numerous dink trout and a couple of undersize reds fell for the 2" Gulp shrimp loaded on a weightless screwlock hook fished out of my kayak in north Shamrock this Saturday. T'was almost a suspended bait! Leaders are 12-15" of 20# mono with a crimped small loop at one end and a 20# Spro swivel crimped in a small loop at the other. Slide the link onto the swivel, slide the hook eye onto the link and ta-dah, ready to fish

Would this work on say a 1/8oz jig head with a 18" shock leader? Put it on the topside of the leader tied with a knot, and then clip to the main line swivel?

Yes but that kind of defeats the purpose unless you have a bunch of other lures tied with leaders already rigged. I usually have the small spro swivel about 18 inches of leader either 20lb flouro or 20 pound big game green trilene and then the little clip on the bottom.

I premake my shock leaders for various jig heads. Id rather not add anything to the front of the lure and rather put the clip away from the lure. I use a #6 Spro Power swivel for all my artificial leaders.

Yes that is probably better if you have all of them pre-tied and ready to go.

What a genius idea!!! ..... Lots of the tackle and equipment that Breakaway provides is designed to make fishing "easier" or .... Take some time and stop by the shop to learn about all the rigs and surf equipment available through Breakaway ... I know we all know and have our own way.. stop by one day and I know u will leave with some knowledge.

I've been using the Norton Speed Clips for the kids because they all refuse to learn how to tie loop knots, but they can be a bit flimsy and I'm worried about them twisting open on a decent fish. I'll have to pick up a pack of these, look to be a good way to get the job done with a lot stronger clip.

stronger, shorter

and weedlesser. Also anything with snaps can bind and pop open.
