Fished with another couple of guys that were "new to the salt" on Monday.
We had to get that bass fishing out of their system for awhile and once we did Mike and Steve were able to put a good box of trout together. We were fishing the sandholes and drop-off at the north end of Baffin with live croaker.
The guys caught ther limits and released a number of fish over 25".

Here are a couple of pictures.

They had 8 trout over 20"

Not bad for a couple of bass fishermen from Austin.

Mike

Were they at least aboard with the concept of using earthworms?

Very nice, Mike. I like the top photo showing the "Baffin style" spot pattern - few spots that run together at the top of the tail then form a "comma" that drops down the tail. Cool photos!

Thanks for the kind words guys.....

I'm a big beliver in "if it isn't broke then don't fix it". I went back down today but didn't anchor up, there wasn't any wind this morning so we just used the trolling motor and jumped from pothole to pothole throwing live croaker. The guys caught a limit (20) by 8:50a and we were back at the dock cleaning trout at 10:00a. I like it. Very Happy

pic of their box

Very Happy

Wow, went from grinding it out to quick limits in just a few days. Nice couple of reports Capt.

How does the water look down there relative to our own backyard? Yesterday I couldn't see my paddle a foot beneath water in the ICW south of the causeway. North of Packery it looked much better though.

Depending on the size of the ""crack"" fish.
I've been fishing Mustad Kahle 4/0 & 5/0....I like the 5/0.
