Fished both north and south Wednesday through Sunday of this past week, water solid green in all areas fished. Traffic light Wed-Thur but picking up on Friday at Bird Island. Had two Trout over 28", one from the Boat Hole and one from Sulphur Flats area, a couple of upper slot Reds from same areas, all of this Wed-Thur, solid quality but low numbrs overall. Waded the Meadows Friday morning with very light winds and boxed 20 Trout between 3 of us from 18-25, all solid fish and very aggressive. I had a 10 fish stringer, all Trout, that went 35 pounds so real solid keeper fish. Bite was hot sun-up until around 11:00 and then things went cold. Big Trout up North were caught 1-4 p.m.
Nate and Garret Colwell with a 28" Trout from Sulphur Flats and matching 28" redfish from the Boat Hole
Garret Colwell with a 28 1/2" Trout caught in the Boat Hole
Trent Pierce with a 10 fish limit from The Meadows _________________ Later,

I fished Sunday the 25th and the water was brown from Snoppy's to laguna shores all the way down to pure oil and back into Nighthawk. There was no green water. _________________ I LIKE MINE FRIED. |

Water looked good for us. not perfect, but good or maybe I just have really good glasses that I did not realize!!!!! The fishing up north was hit and miss on numbers, mostly dinks with a few good fish thrown in. The fishing south was excellent with quality fish througout the area we fished. I fished many years locked in true Brown Tide throwing nothing but live bait and this water looked nothing like that. _________________ Later,

Yup. I am pretty sure it wasn't green too. |

Horrible? I think we get spoiled down here with the water clarity. I heard someone say it was green to the beach one time in Matagorda. It was more of a khaki color _________________ Like Corpusfishing.com on Facebook! |

Sunday the water was ugly all the way to Emmords. Couldn't see your bait 10 inches below the surface. It was a little bit better in Corpus Christi Bay, but not much. _________________ E Pluribus Unum |

Spoiled is right, I could see my spoon a good two feet below the water, in this area that is not horrible. The fishing was good, all that really counts, I'll avoid any water comments going forward. _________________ Later,

| Growing up in Houston, I fished with my Dad on the beaches of Surfside and San Louis Pass. It was always muddy-brown there unless the conditions were epic. In Corpus, we have to have a storm to get water that brown. I don't mind being spoiled... |

Reading your post again you are right the water was green in the boat hole and it looked awesome coming in from Packery. I just hope the bloom fades away because I'am a pristine water junky. _________________ I LIKE MINE FRIED. |

I hope it fades waway as well. I lived in CC for 30 years and fished all through the periods of Brown Tide over the last 25 years and I was just excited this time to see something that resembled green water. I know the water conditions have gotten much better overall, hope the bloom dies and things remain stable. I'll be back in early June for round 2! If I were not computer illiterate I would post the few pics we snapped. _________________ Later,
