Do not hear gulp craps mentioned at all for reds or drum. When we check stomachs, small craps. Any one have theory or advice. Thanks. _________________ It is far better to light one little candle than curse at all the darkness. |

| use them like crazy. For finicky redfish use them with a small hook and flourocarbon for sight casting. For hungry reds use them under a popping cork. Do not confuse popping cork with rattle cork for trout. Popping cork I use is rattle free and only uses the cup of the cork to make a water popping sound. I like the midcoast corks the outcast is my red killer. Do not bother with the bigger gulp crabs the small ones are gold. Iv caught many of limits on gulp crabs. You can even throw them in the grass and just let them rest on the top. Dont move it once it hits or you will dig it deep. A redfish will pick it up in a heartbeat right off the top. |

X2 with the size...the smaller ones work well the largerones ..ehhh....
The small gulp crabs or a DOA terroreyes have been my go to for sightcasting redfish, only one 1 occasion has a red not hit either one of them...even using to bottom fish the black drum and reds will eat them |

| Gulp crabs work on permit and bonefish as well. My guide in Mexico called them the "tortilla fly". |

What Cheft Lefty,,, Reds don't like the rattle? Should have told that to the ones that I fix'n to cook on the half shell.
We use rattle and Cajun Thunder, always a mix to see if there will produce a difference,,, as far as the rattle goes, some like to hear a high pitch rattle instead of a low loud BB sound. _________________ Happy Hook'n

true. Many Hungry reds will hammer anything you put in there face and a rattle cork will bring them closer if they are in competition mode. But those same reds will also go after jalepenos. I have seen 15 reds fighting over a silver spoon all the way to the boat. But In my experience most redfish that are cruising a flat or a hole will go after a rattle-less cork much faster than a loud alemeda. Im sure there is circumstances when thats not correct. But in most cases I have best luck without the rattling.
Good luck to everyone! |

How about using your favorite crab fly spritzed with Gulp crab scent? |
