woke up this morning to a completely calm bay. I really wanted to hit the water, but my daughter had school so i took her then went to go pay property taxes...it wasn't too fun.. so when my daughter got out of school we took the little jon boat out.

right off the bat she gets a nice trout on the TTF killer flats minnow.but he got away close to the boat. she looked at me and said "that was really cool dad" Smile

i'm not sure what she was doing with that bait but they kept jumping on her hook(allot got off she is still working on setting the hook) we landed about 15 trout(only one keeper) on flats and in the channel.

I chummed a bunch of shrimp i had frozen in the boat channel and fished for drum with shrimp and fish bites. i only caught hard head, but it may have been the dolphin that swam by who scarred them off(my daughter loves dolphins and was delighted..

TTF killer flats minnow(glow and chartreuse) it must be good if a 4year old can use it....

catching fish with my daughter really made my day a good one

What a cutie. I fished the flats out there today and caught a bazillion dinks and only 5 or 6 keeper trout to 18". I was out there about 11-1 and no wind at all. Tried using my trolling motor but I found out the coating on the wire had a hole in it and the copper wire just powderized.

Glad to see you get your daughter into the fish. I was looking for you when I was there but I left well before you got there.

She takes after dad that's for sure, has the catching gene, where I was only born with the fishing gene! Darnit! Nice job my friend!

Nice pics and it was definitely a nice day to be out. I was actually wondering if you were going to be out there. I thought about going once I got out of work, but no dice. We need to go out there again soon.
