Not sure what a .38 would do for you in this case. It would make for an interesting case if you shot at him......

Sorry this happened. I could see if you antagonized him in some way or another but like others have said he was likely a drunk moron...

i dont think he would do it again if i was pointing a firearm at him as he went by or if i had put some holes in his new boat.....

I am a good shot with handguns when i lived in Virginia i had my own range in the backyard. i regularly would shoot my glock 17 at up to 130 yards at bowling pins i hit them most of the time and i was more disabled than i am now

Been in your situation twice He who shall not be mentioned and applied my non-firearm solution with immediate results; they left the area REAL fast. Never saw the two morons again.

A flare gun shot their way would get their attention AND wake them up, but as always you can't fix stupid or drunk, and ESPECIALLY stupid AND drunk!!!! Evil or Very Mad

I agree that a firearm would likely scare off the average idiot. But if he was drunk already then maybe he would take out his heater and you would go into a full gun fight.

Shooting at someone going the opposite direction from 100 yards will definitely land your butt in JAIL even if he drove close to you.

Then imagine the litigation one would face it would be a he said she said without any witness's.

Again, glad you are ok. Without the other persons perspective who knows what he was thinking. Maybe you cutoff his drift unintentionally. Who knows!!!!!! There are so many variables.

You have to have 9 lives. Just a month ago the battery blowing up on you, and now someone having fun with something that could go wrong such as a motor quiting and loss of control or a freaky wave hitting him affecthing his ability to steer when he turned away from you.

When 7 more life threating happenings you may have to give up fishing out of the yak and trolling motor powered motor boat.

Glad you are ok.

I carry a firearm with me. I have a square ended canoe and sometimes I just row and sometimes I motor it. I have had people in big boats with lots of power come near but never anything like you experienced. A firearm is a good signalling device.

You know that has become a real problem lately with boaters not being very friendly to waders and yakers, much less people fishing on piers. We were at Cos-Way the other day and these ***holes in an airboat launched at Red Dot, they cut across all of lines and there were at least a dozen people fishing on the pier at the time so I know they saw us and our lines. What has happened to all the friendly people?
