I gigged one of these big shrimp about 3 weeks ago at packary bridge and thought it was just sort of a freak deal. (It was tasty!) Not the case apparently! We were fishing humble tonight in my buddys john boat tied off to the bridge. I spotted this sucker being chassed across the water slowly by some trout. Kept my light on it, sure enough, it started to head towards to the boat. We had no net, so my buddy said he would get it with his bare hands. It went under the boat, poped up and crawled up the concrete pylon just below the water and my buddy grabbed it with his bare hands. The wiskers were over a foot long! In the freezer in a block of ice now! Wouldnt mind catching a few dozen of these boys!

| Very interesting article. I dont think I will be bare-handing a foot long tiger shrimp, thats for sure! My question would be are they safe to eat? The one I pictured looks native in color, just in the super large catagory. |

WE used to do a lot of seining on either side of the JFK causeway from 1965-1967, and once in a bluw moon we would net a big old white shrimp like that....................... very cool stuff indeed!!!! _________________ Dave
