After having a celebratory retirement dinner with Mary we hot tubbed it. Afterward we went to the dock to see if I could catch a couple fish before going into the casa.

Was using my go to lure for the lights. A l'il fishie on a 1/32 oz barbless jighead.

Photobucket

Caught 3 small trout and then I cast my lure across the canal to my neighbors light and never see my lure hit the water, however I feel something on my line. When I reel in I have a bat on the end of it. At this time it was tangled in the line, but I was able to cut the line and pull the line through to released the bat. Now that is another 1st for me. Not quite like catching a cobia, but strange just the same.

Wow a bat! I guess that beats a Louisiana transplant pelican getting tangled on my line in the surf on PINS. And yes I did get it untangled without losing an eye. That was crazy fun.

Celebration dinner partying in the hot tub? What were you drinking?

Just joking.... That's the first I have ever heard of anyone catching a bat and probably the last. Gotta be a state record.
