Got a quick question for you guys, right after I tell you about our trip. Went down to Baffin yesterday after the rain stopped, around 12:30 or so. We did really great for being out there fro about 5 hours in the afternoon. Limited out on trout and put 3 drums in the box. Biggest trout was 25" and 1 at 24", and the rest averaged 18-20". Pretty good day, except for the one that got away. I wasn't paying attention to my cork, and when I turned back around, I saw something roll, and the fight was on. Came right at the boat, then went right past us and headed straight out for the middle of the bay. Only problem was, I couldn't turn him and he cut me off on a rock ( using 30 lbs braid ).

Just wanted to ask y'all if anyone has ever heard of tarpon down in Baffin. I never saw him and he was screaming line off my reel. So, if anyone finds a popping cork in Baffin with something on it, let me know what ya got. Very Happy

Ditto on the jack. Or could have been a monster 'big ugly'.

Tough to turn those around when they make their mind up on swimming in a certain direction Laughing .

Id say a tarpon more likely then a jack or big ugly though depending on bait...

Think it was last year a school of em were hanging out at the mouth of baffin just breaking people off....

One was caught all the way to the back bay at Drum Point....

But since it broke off itll just be another fish story
