Warning: the following report contains a exciting fishing adventure do not read if you are at work or there is a lightning storm outside! A/T is not liable for injuries you receive from attempting to recreate this adventure...unless you catch then its totally my fault

Well for those of yall that didnt know, i was in lubbock for a week and a half....made some promises to come back and get some kayak war work done....

got to the water around 130...paddle was a beast north wind was really blowing and i have to beast it against wind and wave to get to my spot...

water was REALLY low...first 5 spots had no fish or terrain i liked...

on the 6th i finally would the best i could anchored up and got to work....

BAM BAM BAM!!! i was on em !!!

Photobucket

felt good to have some fish on the end of the line again...

Even managed a redfish...

Photobucket

At one point i noticed i was tilting to the left and takign on water, i looked back and my rod was crying..forgot the drag!!!...set the drag set the hook ZZZZZ!!! my line was burning and whatever it was shot straight across the bay in bursts......i was finally cut off from the beast...reeled in a busted and mangled steel leader then "shark in the water" starts playing on my speaker lmao .....

my best guess is a smaller fish hit my fishbite like always and a rogue shark cruised by and ate the fish surprised i had it on as long as i did with my hook....

anyways....

Photobucket

took a sunset pic and realized dang! i have no lights what-so-ever! so i packed up and paddled back to launch halfway in the pitch black....

end of the night count, 1 red, 78 drum give or take a few...ill start working on reds and trout soon, hell maybe even a flounder or two...good to be back on the water..life is good =)

Just killing me...haven't wet a hook since labor day. I hate my life but wife and kids have a lifestyle I have to keep up.
