59 miles off t he pavement is a very, very expesive towing.

There was a good question on the other board.

How is it he can contact the guy who posted the message, and not reach help?

One I have in addition:

Why doesn't the guy who posted the message head out and help?

Ift its a 2004, he may be under warranty still (under 36k ?). Call the local FORD dealership, I think they are responsible for the towing costs.

Thanks Benny,
I know Billy has a sightseeing charter today so maybe he ran into him or certainly someone else will.
I am currently 4x4less so I am of no help on that one.

I had alternator problems with my 04 F150 FX4 and explained to the dealership that I bought the truck to fish PINS...they said if I got stranded, they would pay the towing....

I had to put down the 98 Trooper due to the second failed tranny in 2 years about 5 weeks ago and the fact that her frame was rusting through. Not worth it to fix it to sell and make virtually nothing on it so I sold it to a pal for a bargain basement price. He has the time to fix it and does not plan on doing any long trips with it .

I am still looking though I think I may have found a good old Suburban.

For anyone heading down PINS might be a good idea to run by Texas Battery on Ayers. They do a great job checking out starters, batteries and altenators for only $9.50. Isn't there a saying about an ounce of prevention is worth more than an pound of cure ? Could be worth alot in a situation like this.
