OK, I'm not down there right now but I have heard that a boat exploded in one of the canals off of King Phillip. I have security cameras that point towards the location, but all I could see was black smoke. Now my camera lens is coated to the point where I can't see whats going on. The houses look ok, but I do see something smoking on the other side of the canal.

Anyone know whats going on?

My neighbor says it looks like all of the damage was contained in the boat. He said it looked like a 25' +/- and what was left of it just sank a few minutes ago. He said they had been doing some work to the boat over the last couple of days. Still do not know if anyone was hurt.

It burnt the hell out of an old man that was siphoning gas out of a tank.

the explosion shook the house. Scary. Sounded like a bomb went off in my back yard. The man was on the boat when it happened, he was in bad shape but nobody else was hurt. The boat is completely destroyed and a lot of oil/gas spilled in the canal. Most was cleaned up but there was still a thin sheen over the entire canal this morning, as well as small bits of charred boat. The flames were at least 15 feet high.

They just towed what was left of the boat out of the canal. The man who was siphoning gas out of the boat was burned badly. I hope he recovers. Very Sad. I will say some prayers for him.

We live a street over and heard the explosion as well. Wife is a nurse an rushed down to help out before EMS arrived. Bad situation but could have been worse. Wish for a speedy recovery.
